Residential:

Christin Lett, MA, LLP, CSOTS. Clinical Manager

Christin Lett has been associated with CPI since 2010. She is the Clinical Manager and oversees all clinical services for CPI. Christin graduated from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology with a Master’s Degree in Forensic Psychology in 2010. She completed her undergraduate studies in Psychology and Criminology at the Ohio State University. Christin began working at Community Programs, Inc. as a residential counselor in 2010. Other experiences include family therapy, domestic violence treatment and sexual abuse therapy with Catholic Charities of Michigan.

Jane Dika, MA, LPC, CAADC, CCS, NCC. Clinical Supervisor

Jane Dika has been with CPI for over five years. She has been working in the mental health field for eight years and also has experience with adult and adolescent inpatient psychiatric clients. In her time with CPI, Jane has worked in the residential and outpatient settings with substance abuse and sex offender clients. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and received her Master’s Degree in Counseling with a post-master’s specialization in Mental Health Counseling from Oakland University. She is a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor, as well as a Certified Clinical Supervisor.

Rachel Fowke, LMSW, AODA. Clinical Supervisor

Rachel has been with CPI since 2013. She is the Clinical Supervisor for the women’s residential unit. Rachel completed her MSW Degree at the University of Michigan in 2012. She completed her undergraduate studies in Social Work at Western Michigan University. Rachel completed an internship with KPEP. Prior to working with CPI, Rachel worked as a therapist at the Home of New Vision.

Ewa Kubicz, MSW, LMSW, CAADC. Residential Counselor

Ewa Kubicz has been with CPI since 2007. She received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Wayne State University. Ewa is a Licensed Social worker and Certified Addiction Counselor. She has 7 years of experience in the counseling field.

James Beall, MA, LLPC. Residential Counselor

James Beall has been with CPI since 2013. He received his Master’s Degree in Counseling from Oakland University. James completed an internship with CPI prior to his transition to a counseling position. James is a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor. Prior to counseling, James worked as a Nuclear Reactor Operator on a Submarine in the US Navy, and also a Test Operations Supervisor for General Motors Engineering.

Greg Bedner, MA, LLPC. Residential Counselor

Greg Bedner has been with CPI since 2012. He received his Master’s Degree in Counseling from Spring Arbor University. Greg is a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor. He has 3 years of experience in the field of counseling.

Caleb Bragg, MSW, LMSW. Residential Counselor

Caleb Bragg has been with CPI since 2012. Caleb received his Master’s Degree in Social Work from Wayne State University. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Caleb is a Licensed Social Worker. He has 2 years of experience in the counseling field. In addition, Caleb completed an internship doing outpatient substance abuse counseling in Detroit.

Robin Heideman, MSW, LLMSW. Residential Counselor

Robin Heideman has been with CPI since 2014. She received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Wayne State University. Robin is a Limited Licensed Social Worker. She has 18 years of experience in the counseling field.

Lloyd Justice, BA, CADC. Residential Counselor

Lloyd Justice has been with CPI since 2013. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Pikeville College. Lloyd is a Certified Addiction Counselor. He has 18 years of experience in the counseling field.

Maria Petrides, MSW, LLMSW. Residential Counselor

Maria Petrides has been with CPI since 2014. Maria earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work with majors in social work and family studies from Central Michigan University. She received her Master’s Degree in Social Work with a concentration in mental health from the University of Michigan in 2013. Maria is a Limited Licensed Social Worker. he has worked in both the residential and outpatient settings, and has experience with domestic violence, sexual assault, and working with children.

Sarah Schweitzer, MA, LLPC. Residential Counselor

Sara Schweitzer has been with CPI since 2013. She attended Western Michigan University for her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees. Sarah received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Behavioral Analysis in 2010. She received her Master’s Degree in Counseling and a certificate in Substance Abuse in 2012. Sarah is a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor and is working toward becoming a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Sarah provided services to adults and adolescents in an outpatient setting in South Carolina, and also has experience working with families for alternatives to expulsion and incarceration. Sarah’s counseling focus has been on parenting, anger management, substance abuse, trauma, and suicide prevention.

Kathryn Brown, MSW, LLMSW. Residential Counselor

Kathryn Brown has been with CPI since 2014. Kathryn received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Wayne State University. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a certificate in addiction studies from Madonna University. She completed two internships in residential substance abuse settings, and one in the mental health field. Kathryn is a Limited Licensed Social Worker.

James Wickersham, MSW, LLMSW. Residential Counselor

James Wickersham has been with CPI since 2014. James received his Master’s Degree from Wayne State University. He completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Management from Albion College. James is a Limited Licensed Social Worker.

Arleta Richardson, MA, LLPC, AODA. Residential Counselor

Arleta Richardson has been with CPI since 2014. She received her Master’s Degree in Educational Counseling and Mental Health from Senton Hall University. Arleta is a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor.

Marilynn Gronow, MA. Residential Counselor

Marilynn Gronow has been with CPI since 2014. She received her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Oakland University.

Jason Cubbin, MA, LPC. Residential Counselor

Jason Cubbin has been associated with CPI since 2004. Jason earned a Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of North Carolina – Greensboro. He received his Master’s Degree in Counseling from Oakland University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. His experience includes both residential and outpatient counseling, with a focus on the combination of mental health and substance abuse treatment. Jason has over 10 years of counseling experience.

Outpatient:

Rachel Whitaker, MA, LLP. Outpatient Clinical Manager

Rachel Whitaker has been affiliated with CPI since 2007. Rachel is a Limited Licensed Psychologist and received her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in addiction studies. She has worked in the substance abuse/mental health fields for a combined total of ten years. In her time with CPI, Rachel has worked in the residential, outpatient, and correctional settings with clients in the substance abuse, sexual offender, and violent offender programs. Her experience includes program development and she has been involved with the development of all of the outpatient programs.

Emily Kaminskas, MSW, LMSW, CSOTS. Outpatient Counselor

Emily Kaminskas has been with CPI since 2011. She has worked in the social work field for ten years. Her experience includes residential substance abuse counseling, outpatient substance abuse counseling, and preparing interpretive reports for the Michigan Department of Corrections. Emily completed her Master’s Degree in Social Work at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH, in 2005. After receiving her Master’s Degree, Emily spent four years in London, England, providing social work services. Emily has a passion for helping others make positive changes in their lives.

Karin Chaundy, MA, LLP. Outpatient Counselor

Karin Chaundy has been with CPI since 2013, working with sexual offender clients. Karin has over thirty years of experience as an outpatient counselor. She has worked with mental health clients, substance abuse clients, and sexual offender clients. Karin has experience with individual and family counseling, group counseling, psychological and academic testing, and clinical supervision. She also owned her own outpatient clinic. Karin graduated from a Canadian University with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology. In the last fifteen years, she has devoted much of her time to the sexual offender population, working with sexual offenders with more deviant offenses. Karin’s treatment philosophy involves providing respectful exploration of the issues that resulted in the offense, working hard at transparently sharing the thought and feeling patterns that need to change, and ultimately helping the individual work toward change. She has maintained a limited license in psychology from the State of Michigan since 1979. She also belongs to MIATSA, the Michigan branch of the Association of Treatment of Sex Offenders.

Amber Stephenson-LaForest, MA, TLLP. Outpatient Counselor

Amber Stephenson-LaForest has been with CPI since 2014. Amber received her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in humanistic psychology from the Michigan School of Professional Psychology. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling/Psychology from Rochester College. Amber completed an internship with Catholic Charities, where she worked with adolescent substance abusers. Amber is a Temporary Limited Licensed Psychologist.

Detroit Reentry Center:

Scott Montgomery, MS. Clinical Supervisor, Detroit Reentry Center

Scott Montgomery has been with CPI since 2012. Scott received his Master’s Degree from Jacksonville State University. He has 12 years of experience in the counseling field.

Pam Parker, MSW, LLMSW, CAADC. Residential Counselor, Detroit Reentry Center

Pam Parker has been with CPI since 2013. She has worked in the substance abuse field for 13 years. Pam was an outpatient counselor for ten years, and has also done residential substance abuse counseling in the Ryan Correctional Facility. She completed her Master’s Degree in Social Work at Wayne State University in 2005. Pam believes that working in the substance abuse treatment field allows her to help clients gain wisdom, acceptance, confidence, and encouragement to reach their highest potential, no matter what obstacles they have to overcome.

Regina Rankin-Rice, MA. Residential Counselor, Detroit Reentry Center

Regina Rankin-Rice has been with CPI since 2013. She earned her Master’s Degree from Ashland University, South Holland, IL, and also attended Ashland Theological Seminary. Regina completed an internship at a DUI clinic in Calumet City, IL, and also worked in a maximum security prison in Dwight, IL. Regina has 4 years of experience in the counseling field.

Deborah Gardner, BSW, LLBSW, CADC. Residential Counselor, Detroit Reentry Center

Deborah Gardner has been with CPI since 2013. Deborah received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Eastern Michigan University. She is a Limited Licensed Bachelor’s Social Worker and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Deborah has 4 years of experience in the counseling field.

Peter Giles, MA, CADC. Residential Counselor, Detroit Reentry Center

Peter Giles has been with CPI since 2013. Peter received his Master’s Degree from Hazelden Graduate School of Addictions Studies. He is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Peter has 3 years of experience in the counseling field.

Kelly Myricks, MA, LLPC, AODA. Residential Counselor, Detroit Reentry Center

Kelly Myricks has been with CPI since 2014. Kelly received her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Oakland University. She is a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor and is working toward certification as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Kelly has 2 years of experience in the counseling field.

Ebony Robbs, MS. Residential Counselor, Detroit Reentry Center

Ebony Robbs has been with CPI since 2013. She received her Master’s Degree from Kaplan University. Ebony has 6 years of experience in the counseling field.

Irita Townes, BSW, LLBSW, CADC. Residential Counselor, Detroit Reentry Center

Irita Townes has been with CPI since 2014. Irita received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Mary Grove College. She is a Limited Licensed Bachelor’s Social Worker and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Irita has 11 years of experience in the counseling field.

Rachel Demas, MA, LLPC. Residential Counselor, Detroit Reentry Center

Rachel Demas has been with CPI since 2013. Rachel earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Oakland University. Rachel is a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor. She began working in the Mental Health field in 2003 as a behavior consultant. Rachel also has experience working with Employee Assistance Programs, telephone counseling and crisis intervention, and suicide assessment.

Bryan Granger, MA, LLPC. Residential Counselor, Detroit Reentry Center

Bryan Granger has been with CPI since 2014. Bryan received his Master’s Degree in Counseling from Wayne State University. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from University of Michigan Dearborn. Bryan has been in the social work field for over 2 years.

Jessica Bennett, MA, LLPC, CAADC. Residential Counselor, Detroit Reentry Center

Jessica Bennett has been with CPI since 2014.  Jessica is a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor, and is expected to attain full licensure in April of 2015.  Additionally, she is a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor.  She earned her Master’s Degree in Addiction Counseling from the University of Detroit Mercy, and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Women’s and Gender Studies from Oakland University.  Jessica’s professional interests and specializations include research and practice in gender-specific counseling, trauma response, and ethics in correctional counseling.

Rita Astzian, MA, LLPC, CAADC. Residential Counselor, Detroit Reentry Center

Rita Astzian has been with CPI since 2012. She received her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Spring Arbor University. Rita is a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor with candidacy for full licensure. She is also a fully licensed Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She has 23 years of experience in professional mental health and substance abuse counseling. Rita also has experience working in Community Mental Health, psychiatric hospitalization, and case management.
